Maruti India to develop a new 800cc small car

Maruti Suzuki India is planning to launch a new 800 cc car with a brand new model. The company wants to do it independently with minimum help from its parent company Suzuki. The price of the car is unknown but it is reported that it will cost Rs. 40000 less than Maruti Alto and the car will co-exist with Maruti Alto which is country’s largest selling car.

It is reported that the new car will gradually phase out Maruti 800 from the market as the selling of Maruti 800 is stopped in 13 cities. Maruti India is planning to completely phase out Maruti 800cc completely from the whole country in the coming years and launch a new car in its place. The new car will either be renewed version of an existing car model or will be a fresh new car.

The idea behind the development of this car is that this car is built inhouse at Maruti with minimum support from Suzuki.

Reports say that Maruti engineers have assisted Suzuki during the development of some global models like Maruti A-Star and Maruti Swift.

The new car will be primarily launched in the Indian car market. The car is being developed to introduce the new models as well as developing research and development capability of developing, designing, and engineering a new car on its own.

By the development of this new car, the company also wants to fill out the gap that is created by the phasing out Maruti 800. Maruti India has stopped selling Maruti 800 due to emission norms so it will develop a new 800cc car in the market to cover up the gap created by the non-selling of Maruti 800.

As per our sources, the new car will have the same 796cc engine as that of Maruti Alto.

The new car will have new interiors and will have more space inside.
