New7Wonders Is Scam – Here is a FAQ that I created because I get lots of questions and criticism as a result of my writings about the New7Wonders fraud. This page will be constantly updated if there are suggestions that I received.

• FAQ 1: Why bother in New7Wonders problem?

New7Wonders is a scam because of vanity, the ego utilizing all of us to reap the benefits. This is not much different from the Who’s Who scam or diploma mill where the victim hand over some money for certain attributes, such as an academic degree or a person of the year, despite the fact that these institutions have no credibility or accreditation to give the title. Practically no one else who thought the title or attribute it as something important.

New7Wonders too, they are only a small Swiss company, not organizations or institutions formed international multilateral cooperation among countries.

The difference, adding spice New7Wonders of competition with other contestants, in order to touch all of us a sense of nationalism. In addition, the New7Wonders is a vanity scam on an international scale whose victims are no longer individuals, but nations are sovereign.

Indonesian Idol get revenue from third parties who get entertainment from the event. The committee then submitted a portion of revenue to the contestants, in the form of salaries, training, accommodation, or other. All contestants get a benefit, including the losing contestants in early rounds though.

New7Wonders of deposit earning itself contestants who came from a paid election platform. New7Wonders practically did not issue any fee for contestants. Even the marketing costs borne by each contestant. The cost to the contestant who lost voting paid through the platform can not be returned. For all contestants, the New7Wonders contest is negative-sum game.

• FAQ 3: Ah, the hell of fraud? I’m only out for a cent of money to vote anyway, or even not at all out of money.

Voters are only issued Rp.1, or even do not spend any money. But the real cost is greater than that.

First, there are sponsors who subsidize the costs so that the electorate be that low. Because the local committee must pay a license to the New7Wonders, and they certainly will not accept Rupiah, then there will be a waste of our foreign exchange. Thus, the true value to be paid via SMS voters are much higher than the $ 1 or $ 0.

Secondly, as a result of this contest, there will be those who obtain the phone number data base of tens of millions of people of Indonesia. This is very valuable information, may be far more valuable than the license fee to the New7Wonders.

Third, the mastermind of this scheme still benefit if we voted, especially through media such as premium SMS.

• FAQ 4: Basics of Indonesia, problems like this just fuss! Instead of supporting but dropped!

•  FAQ 5: When Komodo wins, then tourism could rise.

• FAQ 6: But after the Komodo elected to the finalists, increased tourism in Komodo.

This is a logic error post hoc ergo propter hoc. If event B happened after event A, not necessarily B happens because A. A and B could have been caused by a factor of C (spurious relationship).

In this case, the factor C is marketing the government to promote the Park. It is this factor which causes the Komodo elected as finalists; while increasing tourism in Komodo National Park. Without having to be nominated for New7Wonders any, tourism can be increased.

• FAQ 7: Basic traitor! Basic is not nationalist!

It is too far away to measure nationalism only from the amount of money we donated to Bernard Weber:). I think the majority of the people of Indonesia are basically very nationalistic, but have different information. Here I demonstrate in the form of Johari window:

• FAQ 18: The leaders of other countries are supporting the contest, why do not we?

Perhaps they do not know how the problem. Perhaps they knew, but wanted to use the event to boost their popularity.

This again is an argument from authority. The reality is that New7Wonders is a vanity scam despite what is said of these figures. If those leaders ‘get well’, what we will also ‘go well’?

Fortunately, the leader of our country (and also the Maldives) to find out irregularities New7Wonders contest is much faster than other countries due to chaotic events and government New7Wonders peak between Indonesia and the Maldives.
